What can I expect during my first class?
Most classes start with a light warm up to get loose, then we drill some techniques demonstrated by the instructor, followed by sparring (we call them rolls) where we get to practice our techniques on each other. New students don't participate in rolls until the head instructors says you are ready.
Who are the other students?
We have students from all walks of life, from 5 years old to almost 60 - artists, engineers, athletes, and executives - introverts and extroverts. Everyone on our team is very welcoming and they will be more than happy to answer your questions and help get you settled into class.
What should I wear?
If you have never trained before, just show up in some athletic shorts or sweat pants and a t-shirt or compression shirt (if you have one). You might want to bring a change of clothes for after class because you will be getting sweaty.
